Disdik: Children in Jakarta Must Join PAUD for One Year

To produce a quality golden generation, children in Jakarta is required to join the early childhood education (PAUD) for one year, before continuing to primary school (SD) education.
Jakarta Education Agency (Disdik) Head Nahdiana said, PAUD is a process of stimulation so that children can grow and develop optimally. Therefore, his party obliged children aged 5-6 years to join PAUD.

Along with that, by the end of 2019, the agency had made 100 public PAUDs consisting of 67 kindergartens (TK) and 13 childcare parks (TPA) and 20 similar PAUD units (SPS).
As for the 13 TPAs and 20 SPSs were located at the City Hall, Mayor's, Sub-district, and Pasar Jaya offices. Then this year, 18 public PAUDs would be built in several agencies.
She explained that they were entirely accessible for free by the community, especially residents from poorer families.
